Week 08

 PROJECT PROGRESS | 22-24 February 2021


Today,  I would be adding in things that missing from the presentation slides. First of all, I have come up with a game story for the VR game. The game would be inspired by Malaysia food festival culture.

VR GAME STORY
This food festival is a special festival that occurs every year on the August 6 in KL. It’s the day where people are excited to experience a different type of food at the festival. On the day of the festival, Liam gets to sample a variety of food and beverages and he can’t wait to try it out. Unfortunately, there is a colour blind evil magician who is jealous of people having a perfect sight and appetite for food. He wanted people to know how it feels like in his shoes. So, he places a magic spell on every people that come to the festival to experience the colour blind world.

Why August 6?
Every year on August 6-10, Kuala Lumpur would have a food festival event created by the Kita Food Festival.  The Kita Food Festival is an annual event the offers a range of exceptional experiences on some of the final chefs, winemakers and food thinkers from around the globe. (Kita Food Festival - Kuala Lumpur Malaysia August 6 - 10, 2020, 2021) It not only offers the taste of good food and drinks but also aims to shine a spotlight on Malaysia's food scene.

The progress of the game flow:
I started creating the game flow by planning out what needed to include in the players flow throughout the game. Listing out the important parts, for example, Defining the game, Analyzing the game, Setting up models, Analyzing the game models. Defining the game is to see how the evil magician interacts with the players. Analyzing a game is how the players explore the game and how they select the food. Analyzing the game models is that does the player understand the purpose of the game? How to let the players know the educational purpose.

  PROJECT PROGRESS   | 05-07 April 2021 This week, I would be continuing working on the VR Game and also sketches of the character storyboard. In the progress of building the food festival, I have noticed that the environment is a bit empty. Therefore, I have started placing tree from the free asset store. It is to make the environment closer to nature. The food festival will be held in a park where people from all around the world would enjoy a sunny day with a clean environment. Why is it a park? It is because the park has lots of tree and grass surrounding the environment and when in the colour blind world the colour of green and red would appear as yellow and blue.    PROJECT PROGRESS   | 19-21 April 2021 This week, I will be working on the VR Game progress, high fidelity prototype 01, high fidelity prototype 02, character bubble speech and button design. I have researched the button design before started on designing the button. Moving on, I have also done some experimenting on the bubble speech to let the audience have the mood to play the game.
